Alessandro Fried to join Key Brazilian Gambling Industry figures in Webinar detailing Local Regulatory Process

Created on 07/05/2020 08:53:40 AM

Alessandro Fried, BoBet’s Chief Executive Officer, will be joining a panel composed of key industry figures and legislators for the Brazilian market to discuss the current and potential changes in the Brazilian gambling market.

Together with Deputy Newton Cardoso, President of the Tourism Commission; Itamar Pereira, Technical Manager SECAP from the Ministry of Economy; and André Gelfi, Suaposta’s Managing Partner, Fried will be reviewing the current gaming and betting scenario in Brazil and how it can evolve in the future.

The BtoBet sponsored “Webinar Brazil: Sports betting and gaming – how has the global pandemic impacted on the change and rollout” will also give an in-depth update of the regulatory process currently being carried out by the Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy, and Lottery (SECAP), a division within the Ministry of Economy, which is responsible for the process of developing the sports betting regulations.

The regularisation of the Brazilian gambling industry has generated a lot of interest in the gambling community, with a report put together by the KPMG on behalf of the Remote Gaming Association (RGA), suggesting that a combined online betting and gaming market would be worth up to $2.1bn annually.

Many experts also deem the Brazilian market to be very attractive because all licences will be issued at the Federal level, with one set of legislation for the whole country, contrary to what is happening in a lot of new market scenarios, such as the US and Argentina.

The 60-minute webinar will take place on the 14th May 2020, at 15:00 BST.
